Shooting West Lodge Park Wedding Photography was an honour, I was absolutely delighted that Bernice & Michael invited me to shoot their wedding. This beautiful, venue lies between Potters Bar and Cockfosters. Set in 35 acreas of wonderful grounds, hosting an arboretum, which is certainly worth a visit, as its spectacular. The 16th century lodge makes the most perfect venue for a truly romantic wedding.
I love shooting West Lodge Park Wedding Photography and was spoilt for choice with the many fabulous areas in which to take photos that create life lasting memories.
Bernice looked so elegant in her lilac/pink wedding dress & Michael looked dapper in his sharp suit.
With their ceremony in the West Lodge Park Suite, West Lodge Park was an absolutely perfect venue for their special day. West Lodge Park is a 16th Century Lodge steeped in historical beauty. Every aspect of the house & gardens create the most perfect setting for your wedding photos. I love to combine traditional with documentary photography, which I feel creates a well rounded selection of photos that will ensure the memories of your special day will be remembered in your hearts forever.
No additional travel costs for weddings at this beautiful venue.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Bernice & Michael on their wedding day at West Lodge Park Hotel. I was so honoured to capture their big day for them & look forward to shooting West Lodge Park Wedding Photography
Here is a preview of a selection of photos from their special day.
Thought to have built in the 1400’s, West Lodge Park regularly hosted Royalty and dignitaries through the ages. As you can imagine West Lodge Park is steeped in history. Where to start is the question. It was believed that when the land stretching from Barnet to Edmonton was split in 1419, it was believed that three lodges were built East, South and West Lodge. These lodges were homes to the baliffs who collected duty to ensure the land was protected. The land was passed to the Crown in 1421, and remained part of the Duchy of Lancaster for five centuries. In Tudor and Stuart times it was used for hunting deer. It was believed that King Henry VIII, once stayed for a week at West Lodge with Catherine of Aragon. Queen Elizabeth I and also Kind James I have believed to have visited/stayed at West Lodge. In 1673 Henry Coventry took up residence. From 1694 to 1716 West Lodge was owned by the disreputable Sir Basil Firebrace, who was imprisoned in the Tower of London for bribery and fraud. In 1716 West Lodge Park was sold to the keeper, Major General John Pepper. Due to the stability of the walls, the building had to be knocked down, but in 1835 the new building was built. John White Cater took the lease of West Lodge in 1850 – 1889. Cecil Rhodes took over lease in 1890. Ernest North Lewis took the lease in 1921 – 1938. Edward Beale bought West Lodge Park in March 1945 and to date it is still owned by the Beales (Beales Hotels)
The Hotel is situated amongst the most wonderful flowers and trees. You are transported to a different world full of love, romance and nature.
Your exquisite West Lodge Hotel experience begins as you enter through the winding tree-lined driveway. The 35 acres of grounds that greet you on arrival, coupled with the lodge is truly magical. This building is now a hotel & events venue run by the Beales hotels and is the most perfect place for a romantic & timeless wedding. It has a feeling of being warm & intimate as it adorns your guests.
Sumptuous seasonal food created by the talented head chef and his team, such a pure delight. Canapes and drinks reception on the lawn overlooking the luscious, picturesque grounds. Your personal wedding planner and dedicated team are always on hand to cater for your every need. Nothing is too much trouble at West Lodge Park. Exactly what you need for that perfect wedding.
