Down Hall Wedding Photographer

Being a Down Hall Wedding Photographer, I was absolutely delighted that Peggy and Stuart invited me to photograph their engagement shoot and wedding.  This beautiful, historic venue lies within the County of Essex, bordering Hertfordshire.  Set in 110 acres of woodland, parkland and beautiful gardens, this awe-inspiring Victorian Country House makes the most perfect venue for a truly romantic wedding.

Shooting at Down Hall is a pure delight and I’m always spoilt for choice with the many fabulous areas in which to take photos that create life lasting memories.

What they wore

Peggy looked so elegant in her breathtaking, full length Mori Lee wedding dress from London Bride UK with the longest train I have ever seen. Stuart looked dapper in his sharp suit from Dapper Chaps Formal Wear.  The bridesmaids were Peggys best friend and her niece, who wore a light purple and white.  The groomsmen wore suits that tied in beautifully with Stuarts.

Why Down Hall?

Down Hall was an absolutely perfect venue for their special day, especially as Down Hall is a Victorian Country House full of historical beauty. The grandeur of the interior coupled with the gardens create the most perfect setting for your wedding photos. Combining traditional with documentary photography, creates a well rounded selection of photos that will ensure the memories of your special day will be remembered in your hearts forever.

No additional travel costs for weddings at this beautiful venue.

The Happy Couple

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Peggy and Stuart on their wedding day at Down Hall .  I was so honoured to capture their big day for them & look forward to being a Down Hall Wedding Photographer again soon.

Here is a preview of 75 photos of their engagement shoot and wedding day.

Due to Anglo Saxon records, the manor of Down Hall was in existence during the reign of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) . From these records it was written that Down Hall was a medieval manor, considered ancient at the time.  Down Hall was most likely in existence during the 10th century.  Hatfield fell into the possession of William the Conqueror after the battle of Hastings in 1066.  The history of Down Hall is well worth looking in to.

Down Hall is steeped in amazing history.  More recently, from 1914 to 1919, Down Hall was made into a Red Cross Hospital.  From 1932 – 1950 it became a a boarding school for girls. In 1986 Down Hall was bought by Veladail Hotels, who are still the current owners.

This current 19th century Italianate mansion hosts many weddings and events. Adorned with luxury rooms from the smallest to the largest of functions.  Located only 45 minutes from London, Down Hall makes an ideal setting for a staycation, event or wedding.

The historic mansion is situated within 110 acres of parkland and woodland.  Beautiful flora and fauna within the grounds.  That transports you to a different world full of love, romance and natural beauty.

Down Hall has 98 bedrooms and the function rooms are extremely luxurious and grand.  One can hold up to almost 200 guests.

The Oxford Suite caters for the intimate ceremony,  whereas the Bridgeman Suite is a perfect room for the wedding breakfast.  Down Hall provides a magical backdrop to any fairytale wedding.

Down Hall is a sought-after Essex wedding venue, which combines historic architecture with contemporary styling.  A feel of grandeur adorns you as one glides down the wonderful corridors .

Photography at Down Hall is a pure joy with so many beautiful spots to capture those wonderful memories. Your exquisite Down Hall experience begins as you enter through the tree-lined drive, up to the most amazing historic mansion that is Down Hall.

Excellent photography which captured our wedding day to perfection.  I appreciated how personable Helen was and the guidance she gave and patience. She is an excellent photographer who captured our Engagement and Wedding day to perfection.
I loved every single wedding pictures that I found it incredibly difficult deciding the pictures and the number of pictures I wanted in our wedding album.
I would highly recommend Helen’s services.
